Before: On examination, the patient has a prior facelift incision that extends significantly into the hairline, as well as a post-tragal incision, which has resulted in some flattening of the tragus. The right posterior hairline incision has healed very well with no evidence of a step-off deformity and appears suitable for reuse in a revision procedure.
On the left side, however, the posterior hairline incision demonstrates a noticeable step-off deformity with limited hair-bearing tissue below the scar, and the surrounding tissue appears relatively lax. While the condition of the SMAS layer is difficult to fully assess on exam, there appears to be persistent laxity in the lower face that could potentially be improved. Clinically, there is still visible jowling, residual submental fat in the neck, and some hanging of the platysma contributing to neck contour concerns.
After:The patient presents to the clinic today one year following her facelift procedure. She reports doing very well and is very pleased with her healing and overall results.
On examination, the incisions have healed nicely and the hairline has reapproximated well. She continues to demonstrate both static and dynamic rhytides, most notably around the perioral region and across the forehead.

Before: On examination, the patient demonstrates several signs of facial aging. She is an avid runner and reports significant cumulative sun exposure over many years. Clinical evaluation reveals jowling, platysmal banding of the neck, and brow ptosis. There are also lateral brow rhytides and visible signs of solar damage, consistent with long-term sun exposure and natural aging changes.
After:On examination, the patient demonstrates a well-defined jawline and neck contour. The preauricular incisions are healing well and are beginning to fade appropriately. The incision beneath the sideburn remains somewhat visible at this stage but is healing as expected. The postauricular hairline incisions are also healing well with no concerning findings.
